Court fees and costs
State fee
When filing a court petition, the claimant must pay the state fee (court fee). This is established by the legislation of the Republic of Moldova.
How it is calculated
For monetary claims (with a determined value), the state fee is calculated as a percentage of the claim value. Typically:
- 3% of the claim value — the standard rate for monetary claims
- There is a minimum and maximum set by law
- The exact amount depends on the nature of the dispute and the claim value
Exemptions and reductions
In certain situations, the claimant may be exempt from or receive a reduction of the state fee:
- Persons with disabilities
- Consumer disputes (in some cases)
- Other categories provided by law
Payment methods
The state fee is paid:
- At any commercial bank
- By bank transfer
- The payment receipt is attached to the court petition
